Worrying About The Superficial

Today’s Reading: Matthew 15:21-31; 16:1-12; Mark 7:24-8:26

“Why are you talking about having no bread? Do you still not see or understand?… And don’t you remember? When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand…?” Mark 8:17-19

The disciples had just recently witnessed Jesus miraculously provide food for a crowd of thousands (and this was the second time!); yet they seem to worry about their lack of food again! Meanwhile, Jesus isn’t talking about supper at all! He’s giving them a spiritual lesson instead.

How often do we see a lack (of anything) and worry like the disciples about how we’ll get through (even though we’ve seen Him provide for us time and time again!), when God is really trying to teach us something even deeper.
