Wholehearted Devotion

Today’s Reading: 2 Kings 12:21; 13:20-25; 14:1-6, 15-16, 23-24; 2 Chronicles 25:5-24

Are you tired of reading “He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, but not as his father David had done” & “he brought back the gods of …as his own gods … the anger of the Lord burned against…”? Yes, it is a repeated history for the last two weeks, ever since the end of King Solomon. I bet you say at least once to yourself – “why are they so stupid to repeat themselves?” For me, I ask that same question, but ended up with a voice of the Lord in my head – “yeah, Jennifer, why are you so stupid?”

We may not worship another god, but we do worship in life other than God without even knowing – fame, fortune, wealth, acknowledgment, status, knowledge and so on. Without acknowledging your purpose in the grand plan of the Lord, all are meaningless under the sun. We are another people who do not do “what is right in the eyes of the Lord as David had done” (wholeheartedly).

I am just so grateful that God loves me as I am, with many faults and weaknesses. With His grace, I am working hard to do what’s right in the eyes of the Lord wholeheartedly. Are you walking with God today with all your heart?
