We Will Serve The Lord

Today’s Reading: Joshua 22:1-24:28

Joshua states again “Be strong; be careful to obey all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, without turning aside to the right or to the left” He praises the Lord by saying “Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed” God is the only promise maker who is always a promise keeper!

Joshua tells a story of the Israelites, just like Moses has done in the past, how God saved the Israelites from Egypt, how the Israelites were in desert for a long time, how God delivered the promised land to the Israelites. As he completes his speech, he calls for a commitment – “But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord”. Can you say the same to the Lord this morning on behalf of your family? Mr. John S. from our church made a comment last night bible study how Achan’s family – women & children – suffered by his decision of disobeying the Lord. In today’s reading, by your choice, you can commit your family and anyone you consider to be within your “household” to serve the Lord and be blessed accordingly.

So let’s hear from you, the heads of each family this morning! Are you ready, willing and able to declare that “as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”?
