Wait For The Lord

Today’s Reading: Psalm 111; 130-131; 141; 146

“I wait for the LORD, my soul waits,
and in His word I put my hope.
My soul waits for the Lord
more than watchmen wait for the morning,
more than watchmen wait for the morning.”
Psalm 130:5-6

I don’t know about you, but I am always eager to get off my shift at work. And, I’ve noticed that the last two hours of work are seemingly the longest. Every time I look up at the clock, it seems to have hardly moved! “More than I look forward to getting off work” would be a good paraphrase of the “more than watchmen wait for morning” lines in my life. When I put it that way, I am forced to ask myself the question, “do I really wait for the LORD that much? With that much excitement and anticipation?” The honest answer is no. Oh, that I would wait for Him with that much energy and desire!
