Tired Of Rebels

Today’s Reading: Num. 20, 21; 33:1-49

Did anyone see that I miss last Friday? Yes, I was on the bus to Toronto at 6 a.m. and stayed there until 10:30 p.m. and crashed. It was an interesting day to keep up my spirit with God, meeting interesting people in odd circumstances. But, here I am catching up a day.

Both Miriam and Aaron die in this reading – God did not let them go into the promised land, as he stated before. In addition, God states to Moses that he would not lead the people into the promised land, either. I find his reason interesting – “Because you did not trust in me enough to honor me as holy in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this community in the land I give them.” It took me awhile to figure it out — “Listen, you rebels, must we bring you water out of this rock?” Not God, but “we”. Moses did not do it; Aaron did not do it; it was God who did it. It is sad to see that after all those miracles and amazing glory the Israelites continues to rebel and continues to oppose. I feel like I am in a continuous time-loops – don’t you?

Are you in a time-loops in your life? Do you repeat the same thing and expect different results? Why not stop and pray to find out what you need to change in order to get different answers?
