Continuing our series on the history of the Brethren movement, Rob leads us through a dark period of conflict and division in the mid- to late-1800s. Perhaps losing sight of the original focus on Jesus Christ and the Word of God, and seeing instead the early success of a movement, some of the Brethren leaders drifted towards exclusivity and protectionism. The sanctity of the movement became more important than the worship of God that had begun the movement in the first place.
