Gordie shares from Matthew and Luke 7 about some of the background characters in the story of Jesus. He talks about four groups of background characters: the John the Baptist and his disciples, the crowds, the Pharisees and the scribes and lastly the Lawyers. Each plays a key role in what Jesus has to say this week in the weekly readings. He also asks us to compare our lives to the four groups of people mentioned. Gordie ends off with an important question of do we miss Jesus for the background characters or for the distractions of this life.
