Pride’s Fall

Today’s Reading: Amos 7:10-17; 2 Kings 14:28-29; 15:8-18; 2 Chronicles 26:16-21

Pride is dangerous. Uzziah’s pride robbed him of his royal position and all his relationships. I wonder if he was wanting a deeper relationship with God? If that’s the case, it makes sense (in a human way) that he would find that depth by entering the temple and completing the work given to the priests.

It’s important to remember that God does want to have a deeper relationship with us; but not on our own terms or in our own way. He wants us to grow deeper in our walk with Him by simple and faithful obedience to His word.

Lord, keep us from blinding pride!
