Misrepresenting

Today’s reading: Isaiah 22:1-14; 28:1-29:21; 33:1

“These people come near me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only rules taught by men.” (Isaiah 29:13)

I recall my old church’s Sunday service. I was so moved. Then, right after the service, people were yelling at each other with accusation, ladies were gossiping and children were lost without supervision. Then, I thought “Huh! Didn’t we just worship of our gracious God and his mercy and love upon us?” Have you ever felt that way?

Isaiah is warning people for relapse – losing weight is actually easy; it is keeping the weight is difficult part. Becoming a Christian is actually easy; it is how to be a Christian at all times and at all places what challenge us daily.

Are you in danger of relapsing today? Where is your heart in worshiping our gracious God? Once again, I am grateful that He loves me for who I am with all my issues and faults. How about you?
