“Sorrow is better than laughter, because a sad face is good for the heart” (Ecc. 7:3)
When seeking wisdom (application of knowledge, according to Richard Haverkamp on May 20th, 2012), we tend to learn better by making mistakes or going through tough times. We are more ready to lean on God because we know we can’t get through without Him. No one wants to be sad, but today we are told it is good for the heart because it changes us to be more like Christ when we go through our trials in life to be set us free from our own yoke of slavery in this world. (Gal. 5:1)
Are you in the middle of your life storms and trials right now? I confess I am. Then, let’s lean on God for his wisdom to carry us out of our storms, for we are already told that His yoke is easy and his burden is light (Matt. 11:30)!
