Following God’s Purposes

Today’s Reading: The Daily Bible: Pages 1488-1493 Acts 3:1-6:7

“For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But, if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fight against God.” (Act 5:39)

Does this verse make you say “yes” on top of your lungs? It did for me. If my purpose or action is from God, who can fight against God?

I just came back from Entrepreneurial Leaders conference in Toronto – what an event! One of the best comments was that Jesus Christ is the best entrepreneur of all times, by Dr. Darrel Johnson, a pastor of First Baptist Church in Vancouver. He confessed how envious and jealous he was of all of us because we could reach business people he could not reach, despite his attempt. He states that “we are to participate with our Creator, who is the most creative God with infinity” – being entrepreneur is one of the best examples of being creative for God. That was such awesome encouragement, since I always feel that church/Christians seem to be down upon business people in general – “oh, those people who want to make profit!”

Another speaker had a great seminar called “Why would anyone want to be led by you? Essential characteristics of leaders” Oh, boy…. Did I get a wake-up call or what? He pulled all the characteristics in the leadership of Jesus for us to emulate as leaders. What a great talk! If anyone wants more info on the conference, I will be happy to share my experience! God is so good at providing such right encouragement for each of us! I was so needed this encouragement recently, but did not realize it until I attended this conference!

Jesus Calling, devotional book, states this morning that God gives us His Peace and His Presence with us always as His gifts to us. I can’t think of any better gifts than that, can you?
