Chasing After The Wind

Today’s Reading: Ecclesiastes 1:12-18; 2:1-11; 2:17-26; 4:1-16; 5:1-20; 6:1-9; 7:13-14; 8:2-15; 9:13-18

In essence, “I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.” (Ecc.1:14)

We got 16 “meaningless”, 6 “a chasing after the wind” and 20 “under the sun” in today’s reading. King Solomon, who is known to be the wisest and wealthiest man ever lived, declared that “meaningless under the sun, a chasing after the wind” after all he has done and seen. The key phrase here is “under the sun”; in other words, here on earth – all is meaningless because our home is in heaven. Our real home is with Christ in heaven and our current home is temporary and meaningless, but to pursue to be like Christ as a training field.

Are you “chasing the wind” today because we are so “trained” by our society? How about relaxing today, enjoying what God already provided in your life and spend time with Him in His Presence to be trained by Him instead?
