Today’s Reading: Titus
“Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men.”
I must say that this is a big order to fill, regardless how many time I get reminded. Every time I have to pay tax, I will bite my tongue on our government (“authorities”)! “obedient” is not my middle name; in fact, it became my vocabulary ever since I got adopted into God’s family! Hmmm… “to be ready to do whatever is good” seems to be so vague! “slander no one” is a good one but so hard to do in my sprite as well as outspoken words! I’ve never knew “peaceable” is a word until today! I get “peace”, but I don’t think I’ve ever heard “peaceable”!
Finally, “true humility toward all men” is a final reminder as a righteous living under Titus 3:1-2.
I must confess that I will have to be reminded many times by many people over many years – please feel free to remind me!
