Today’s Reading: Acts 24-26

I am sure that I am one of very few that enjoy today’s reading so thoroughly because it is so fascinating in Paul’s legal arguments, including jurisdictional challenges. Paul did a beautiful way of appealing with facts and law. Tertullus had nothing but accusations without proof or basis, whereas Paul went through specific facts and law, in addition to jurisdictional arguments (Roman, Jewish or otherwise).

Mind you, I find Paul’s detention was unlawful, but done within discretionary power (or bribery/favour) of the Roman governor, not by any legal means.

And, Paul’s confidence in God is amazing!

“Short time or long – I pray God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am, except for these chains”!

He was not just defending himself, but he was using his circumstances – imprisonment – as a mean to spread the Gospel and he was so confident that God would change people’s heart as he shared how he became a Christian. That’s what I call true testimony!

When is the last time you testify for Christ? In good or bad circumstances (you cannot be worse than Paul who was in prison for more than 2 years without a charge), do you testify for Christ? If not, how about today?
