Today’s Reading: 2 Chronicles 29:3-31:21
Finally, somebody actually learned from the history! King Hezekiah declared “Do not be like your fathers and brothers, who were unfaithful to the Lord, the God of their fathers, so that he made them an object of horror… Do not be stiff-necked, as your fathers were; submit to the Lord…. Serve the Lord your God”. Wasn’t so discouraging to read so many kings (leaders) turn away from God? And people followed such lead and turned away from God. Isn’t so important for us to exemplify for others so that we lead them to walk with God on a daily basis, at work, at home, at baseball grounds, at soccer fields, at hockey fields, and so on?
“he sought his God and worked wholeheartedly. And so he prospered.” It was great to read that this king, at least for today’s reading, served God wholeheartedly. I do like this word, “wholeheartedly” – everything you got in your heart where your soul and mind reside focus on God, and nothing else.
Do you serve our God wholeheartedly today? Do you notice who sees you today to follow your lead? If not, we still got another 14 hours to serve our God and let’s get started. Oh, you ask how or what? How about starting with a prayer for everyone you can think of right now? Our God loves to hear from us about everything we do!
