Today Ryan Martin continued his series on the beatitudes, noting that this seventh one—“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God”—is the final beatitude describing what Christians are, before the last one describes how others respond to them.
Ryan reviewed the previous beatitudes, highlighting how they describe the heart character that makes true discipleship possible. He then described how scripture defines “peace” and that peacemaking is not the absence or avoidance of conflict, appeasement, or forcing peace through control. He finished by discussing what breaks peace, what brings peace, and what it means to be called “sons of God”.
