Today’s Reading: Deuteronomy 26:16-30:20
Moses wrote about the blessings and curses, based on our obedience to God in keeping our covenant with God.
I find this verse very striking – “I will be safe, even though I persist in going my own way”. This will bring disaster on the watered land as well as the dry. The Lord will never be willing to forgive him. In other words, our disobedience or rebellion against God is the most sinful conduct we could do. However, how many time do we actually do that in life? How many times do you do something without asking God’s guidance or following his commandments? You may say “hey, I did not kill anyone”, but can you say “I did not dishonour my parents”? I confess that I have dishonoured my parents without even being aware that I was doing it!
Then, God also provides forgiveness for repentance – how gracious he is.
We apparently will get more than 10 degree outside today — enjoy God’s beautiful gift – sunshine & warmth!
