The Roman Emperor made Christianity the state’s official religion in 380 AD. The subsequent integration of church and state led to dilution and weakening of the Gospel, and to outright heresy. Starting with the letter to the church in Pergamum (in Reveleation 2) as it outlines this process, Len describes how this very same condition can seduce us into adopting the secular world’s attitudes, to the detriment of our faith and relationship with God.
